How the work runs

The stages specific to this discipline. The firm-wide sequence, from enquiry through to support after handover, is on the home page.

  1. Load and site survey

The connected load, the available supply and the route are established first. On distribution work the constraint is almost always the route and the wayleave rather than the equipment.

  2. Scheme and approvals with the utility

The scheme is prepared and taken through the distribution utility. Registration with TSSPDCL and GENCO is what allows this to be handled directly rather than through a third party.

  3. Materials checked in against the requirement

Transformers, switchgear and cable are verified against the specification on receipt, which is the last point at which a substitution is cheap to reject.

  4. Civil work, erection and cable laying

Foundations and structures, transformer erection, and HT and LT cable laying along the surveyed route.

  5. Termination, testing and charging

Terminations made off, the installation tested, then charged in coordination with the utility.

  6. Handover and maintenance support

Handed over to the utility's or the site's requirement, with maintenance support afterwards through the service engineers.

Technical expertise

  • 11 KV transformer installation and distribution as a registered vendor
  • Projects executed up to 33 KV, with the 33 KV registration in process
  • HT and LT power cable laying, termination and testing
  • Combustion control system installation in steel plants
  • Coordination with the distribution utility through to charging

What you get

Registered, so the paperwork is not a third party's problem
Utility registration means approvals and coordination run through the same firm doing the work, rather than through a chain that adds a handover at the worst point.
Civil and electrical under one contract
Foundations, structures, erection and cabling are all in house, so the site is not waiting on a civil contractor to release the electrical work.
Stated honestly at 33 KV
Projects rated to 33 KV have been executed and the registration is in process. Both halves of that are published, because a buyer who finds out the second half later stops believing the first.

From the work

  • HT power cable drums staged at a distribution site
  • Power cable being drawn from drums during a distribution install
  • Crane setting distribution poles on an 11 KV line route
  • Alternator and control cabinet assembly ready for commissioning
  • Cable trays and conduit runs through an industrial plant room

Questions

Are you registered for 33 KV work?
We have executed projects rated up to 33 KV since 2018 and are eligible for 33 KV registration, which is currently in process. The existing registration with TSSPDCL and GENCO covers 11 KV transformer installation and distribution.
Do you handle the utility approvals, or do we?
We do. Registration with TSSPDCL and GENCO is what allows the scheme, the coordination and the charging to run through the same firm doing the installation, rather than through a chain with a handover in the middle of it.
Can you do the civil work under an electrical contract?
Yes. Foundations, structures and buildings are in house, which is what stops an erection crew standing idle while a separate civil contractor finishes.
