Rooftop solar, installed by the firm that does the wiring

Industrial, commercial and residential rooftop systems across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, from the survey through to the net meter and the subsidy paperwork.

Solar is a newer division here, and the photographs on this page are library images rather than our own installations. They are credited as such. What is ours is the electrical and civil work underneath: the rest of this page sets out exactly what the job involves and who does it. Ask for references at survey stage and you will get whatever we can show at that point.

Why this firm

A rooftop system is three jobs, and we already do all three

  • The structure

Mounting frames are fabrication and the roof underneath is a structural question. Civil construction is the discipline this firm was founded on in 2014.

  • The electrical work

The firm is a registered vendor to the Telangana distribution utility for 11 KV installation and distribution, and does HT and LT cable laying, termination and testing. A rooftop tie in is the small end of that work, not a new discipline.

  • The utility paperwork

Approvals, coordination and charging with a distribution utility are routine here rather than an unfamiliar obstacle, because the firm's existing distribution work runs through the same offices.

What we install

  • Industrial rooftop

Factory and warehouse roofs, sized against the plant's own load, tied into distribution the same firm already builds.

    Suited to

    • Plants with a large sheeted or RCC roof already carrying the load
    • Sites paying an industrial tariff on a high daytime demand
    • Operations that cannot take an unplanned shutdown for the installation

    What the work is

    • Structural assessment of the existing roof before anything is fixed to it
    • Mounting structure fabrication and installation
    • DC and AC cabling, combiner and inverter installation
    • Tie in to the plant's existing LT distribution
    • Earthing and lightning protection
    • Coordination with the distribution utility for the metering approval
  • Commercial rooftop

Offices, institutions, hospitals and hotels, where the roof is shared with plant and the work has to happen around occupancy.

    Suited to

    • Buildings with daytime consumption that matches daytime generation
    • Premises where the roof also carries air handling or water tanks
    • Owners who need the work done without closing the building

    What the work is

    • Shadow and access survey, including existing roof plant
    • Mounting structure designed around what is already up there
    • DC and AC cabling and inverter installation
    • Connection into the building's distribution board
    • Earthing and lightning protection
    • Net metering application with the distribution utility
  • Residential rooftop

Houses and housing societies, including the paperwork for the central rooftop subsidy scheme.

    Suited to

    • Independent houses with a clear, unshaded roof
    • Housing societies looking at common area consumption
    • Owners who want the subsidy application handled rather than explained

    What the work is

    • Roof survey and system sizing against your actual bill
    • Mounting structure and panel installation
    • Inverter, cabling and earthing
    • Net metering application with the distribution utility
    • Support through the central subsidy application and its documentation

The installation

Eight stages, from the first conversation to the meter

Consultation

A conversation about what you are paying now, what you consume during daylight, and what the roof is. Most of what decides whether rooftop solar is worth it is in the first two.

Stage 1 of 8. Every stage happens on every job; how long each takes is what changes.

Subsidy

The central subsidy, in plain terms

  • It is a residential scheme

PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is central financial assistance for rooftop systems on homes. Commercial and industrial rooftops are not covered by it, and their case rests on the tariff you are displacing instead.

  • The amount is set by the ministry, and it changes

Assistance is calculated against system size within limits the ministry sets, and those limits have been revised since the scheme opened. We confirm the figure that applies to you in writing before you commit to anything, rather than quoting a number off a website.

  • It runs through the national portal and your utility

Registration is on the national portal, the installation has to be done by a registered vendor, and the utility has to inspect and install the net meter before the assistance is released. The order of those steps is not optional.

  • The documentation is the slow part

Identity and ownership documents, your electricity account details, and the bank details the assistance is paid into. We prepare and submit the application and follow it up, so that the paperwork is not the reason the system sits uncommissioned.

Eligibility and assistance amounts are decided by the ministry and the distribution utility, not by us. Nothing on this page is a guarantee of approval or of a figure.

Questions

How long has Leo Enterprises been doing solar?
Solar is a newer division. The electrical and civil work underneath it is not: the firm has been a registered vendor for 11 KV installation and distribution since 2018 and has been building industrial structures since 2014. Ask for references at survey stage.
Will you handle the subsidy application?
For residential systems, yes. We prepare and submit the application on the national portal and follow it up through the utility inspection and net metering. Eligibility and the amount are decided by the ministry and the utility, not by us, and we confirm the figure that applies to you in writing before you commit.
Is there a subsidy for a factory or office rooftop?
Not under the residential scheme. Commercial and industrial rooftop economics rest on the tariff you are displacing and on net metering instead, which is a different calculation and one we will do against your actual bill.
Will fixing panels damage the roof?
The roof is surveyed for structure and waterproofing before anything is fixed to it, and the mounting arrangement is designed around what the survey finds. On a sheeted roof the fixing detail is the part that decides whether it leaks in two monsoons.
