Brief
Handling equipment of this kind is built in small numbers and kept in service for decades. When the original manufacturer withdraws support, a unit that fails is not replaced. It is either rebuilt or the capability it serves goes idle.
Approach
- Measure the existing unit and draw it back up, since no manufacturer drawing was available.
- Fabricate the frame, running gear and cradle to the recovered geometry.
- Assemble, finish and hand over to the establishment's schedule.
Outcome
Leo Enterprises was recognised by the Indian Navy for completing indigenisation work of this type on time.
